Uniform Guidelines and Hygiene
Undershirts
- All employees are strongly encouraged to wear a shirt underneath their uniform as it creates another layer in between you and whatever you come in to contact with in the dining court.Sleeves
- Employees are allowed to wear sleeves for religious or medical purposes as long as:1. You are willing to roll up your sleeves while handling food products or equipment
2. Visible areas of the long-sleeved shirt are either SOLID BLACK or WHITE ( no other colors/patterns are permitted ).
Nametgags
Pants to Wear
- Jeans, slacks, and khakis
- Must be of a "hard" material
- Skinny jeans and colored jeans are allowed
- You will be sent home for not wearing the right types of pants.
- Must cover ankles
Pants to NOT Wear
- Dresses, skirts, athletic pants, pants with holes, leggings, jeggings, sweat pants, joggers, capris, gauchos, yoga pants, sagging pants, tights, and spandex.
- You will be sent home for not wearing the right types of pants.
Footwear to Wear
Closed toe Shoes- Tennis Shoes
-Slip-resistant shoes
Socks are required
You will be sent home for not wearing the right types of shoes
Footwear to NOT Wear
.- Flip-flops, Uggs/house slippers, athletic toe shoes, Toms, moccasins, boots, shoes with an elevated heel, loafers, and clogs.
You will be sent home for not wearing the proper shoes.
Nails
- No nail polish, fake nails, or gels
- Keep them clean and cut/trimmed
Jewelry
- One set of earrings
- Keep earrings under the size of a dime
- No hoop earrings/ earrings with no back piece
- Keep necklaces under clothing
- One ring is allowed
- One watch is allowed
- Some facial piercings are allowed
Wash Your Body and Hands
Practice good hygiene at home and work!Always wash your hands:
- Before/ After Work
- After Work
- After using the restroom
- After touching different utensils/surfaces
After using the restroom, make sure to wash your hands again once entering the kitchen;
A total of TWO (2) times before returning to work.
Glove Use
- Only use gloves when directly touching food and between food types.- Do NOT use gloves when touching utensils, carts, or door handles
If you have Band Aids/cuts on
your fingers, wear a glove over the injured hand.
Hair
- Keep clean and tidy
- Hair shorter than shoulders requires a hat
- Hair longer than shoulders requires a hair net
- Facial hair longer than 1/4" requires a beard net
Hair Net
- Put over bangs
- Place over Pony Tail
- Tuck away stray hairs
- If you have hair coming from the back of your hat, you do need
to place a hair net over it.
ALWAYS wear a hair net when entering the kitchen!
